Position Summary:

The Editor/Technical Writer will be responsible for supporting the Research team in all facets of preparing and submitting manuscripts to professional medical journals. This position also entails editing and submission of abstracts to medical conferences, as well as tracking all manuscript and abstract submissions, archiving, maintaining a calendar of upcoming events, and other special projects. The Editor/Technical Writer also serves as a liaison between the Research and Marketing departments, working to ensure that published manuscripts are properly shared in the industry. Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize projects are essential in this role.

 

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Editing, formatting, and submitting manuscripts to medical journals
  • Proofreading pre-press proofs of accepted articles prior to publication
  • Editing, formatting and submitting abstracts to medical conferences
  • Supporting researchers in all publishing/editorial projects
  • Archiving and tracking all submissions and publications
  • Maintaining calendar of upcoming industry conferences
  • Executing project management of special publications and Research editorial projects
  • Acting as a liaison between Research and Marketing departments
  • Adhering to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensure Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Representing the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus 

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an editorial/writing environment, preferably with medical devices
  • Experience submitting to scientific journals and scientific conferences
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Familiarity with project management
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Technical writing certification a plus
  • Experience submitting to scientific conferences
