Position Summary:

The Staff Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing new technologies, and optimizing existing processes to achieve production goals. The Staff Manufacturing Engineer will be a subject matter expert, providing leadership and guidance to junior engineers and production staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Works with Product Development teams to achieve a smooth new product introduction (NPI).
  • Evaluates and enhances existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Implements Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identifies and assesses emerging technologies relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Leads the introduction and integration of new technologies to enhance overall manufacturing capabilities.
  • Works with a cross-functional sustaining team to address life cycle issues, continuous improvement, reliability, and cost reductions for existing products.
  • Identifies root cause and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Interfaces with Quality Assurance/Quality Control to ensure products and processes comply with all required regulations.
  • Develops and maintains procedures and equipment used for manufacturing medical robotic and navigation products.
  • Identifies opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality.
  • Implements cost-effective solutions to optimize the manufacturing process.
  • Analyzes production data and trends to forecast capacity requirements.
  • Develops strategies to meet production demands and scalability.
  • Identifies potential risks in the manufacturing process and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Implements measures to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of manufacturing processes, changes, and improvements.
  • Generates regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to management.
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of engineering experience
  • Project Management Skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in launching multiple new products
  • Familiarity with ISO requirements, FDA Regulations, and cGMP’s.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and KPIs.
  • Demonstrated experience using Lean manufacturing methods.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting electronics.
  • Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-starter
  • Advanced critical thinking and problems-solving skills
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
  • All of the minimum Qualifications above. 
    • Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing field.
    • Experience in Robotics.
    • Experience in Optics.
    • Experience in evaluating precise 3D spatial problems.
    • Experience with microcontrollers and writing code
