Position Summary:

The Software Engineer will be directly responsible for supporting our Robotics products, including the flagship ExcelsiusGPS Robotic System and will work cross-functionally with our clinical team to continually refine and improve the software in the field.  The position will be hands-on and require the individual to be capable of creative and systematic product development with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to software design, testing, and documentation
  • Developing prototypes in addition to production-quality solutions
  • Creating new solutions from the ground up and take over the development and sustaining of existing software solutions
  • Ensuring efficient performance and scalability of solutions
  • Demonstrating a passion for software development, software craftsmanship, and test-driven development
  • Assist field support team remotely and manufacturing team on-site.
  • Support labs and demonstrations.
  • Flexibility to support multiple products.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Adhering to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Representing the company in a professional manner and upholding the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related technical field of study) and a minimum of 3 + years industry of experience in software development or with a Master’s Degree with 1+ years
  • Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
  • Experience programming in C++ in a multi threaded environment
  • Experience developing software tools, utilities, and libraries/components
  • Experience in one or more of the following: kinematics, motion control, and control algorithms
  • Experience with KUKA, KRL, and Siemens PLC is a plus.
  • Experience in UI development a plus
  • Experience supporting a released product and assisting field support team a plus
  • Ability to work on sizeable individual efforts and teams using agile methodologies
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
  • Ability to attend labs/surgeries
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills
