Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the smooth operation of the facility including planning, supervising, and performing routine and preventive maintenance, improvement projects (build outs), in addition to the maintenance of various pieces of equipment related to the company’s manufacturing activities. The position will be responsible for areas, such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, mechanical/compressed air, plumbing, landscaping, cleaning, and security.


Essential Functions:

  • Plans and develops a strategy to meet the ongoing needs of Globus Medical / Branch Medical with regards to facilities.
  • Oversees contract administration for vendor / contractors’ services, including scope of work, request for proposals, bids, deliverables, and evaluation of vendor performance.
  • Develops and maintains environmental health and safety programs for facilities including procedures for: emergency evacuation, first aid, natural disaster, and any other type of threats
  • Ensures facility complies with federal, state, and local jurisdictions and laws, codes and OSHA guidelines.
  • Provides for facility inspections and checklists, emergency preparedness plans, facility profiles, work order fulfilment, and surveys as appropriate.
  • Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functionality and detect malfunctions.
  • Performs minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry painting and masonry maintenance work.
  • Be able to establish and manage an effective PM program / schedule for facilities, mechanical equipment and document repair and maintenance activities as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Coordinates with outside Service Technicians for repairs when necessary.
  • Maintains facilities inventory, such as materials, cleaning supplies, and tools.
  • Supervises cleaning, security, maintenance, landscape & security personnel / contractors.
  • Interrelates effectively and diplomatically in all areas of employee relations, always projecting a professional image in keeping with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Must be willing to travel to other company properties
  • Researches new programs or processes to improve quality/reduce costs for the facility.
  • Prepares monthly reports including performance in relation to goals, timelines, budgets, etc.
  • Responds to after hour emergencies, as necessary. Work occasional weekends.
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • High school degree required; plus, Technical School Certification preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic building systems including mechanical, electrical, HVAC system, freezers, refrigerators, electrical and mechanical (compressed air and vacuum) system and carpentry, including practical “hands on” experience.
  • 5 years facilities maintenance experience in buildings with 50 or more employees with a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of basic construction, architectural guidelines, code requirements, and related criteria with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs overhead and able to work in ceiling, crawlspace and on roofs.
  • Experience to operate a Fork Truck & Scissor lift is a must.
  • The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in CAD or Visio a plus
  • Snow shoveling and hand salting as needed
  • Must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relationships, communication, organizational, flexibility and maturity.
  • Demonstrate strong self-starting qualities to independently manage the coordination of multiple projects / employees / contractors to ensure timely completion of tasks, as well as a willingness to actually perform some of the technical activities.
