Position Summary:

Our Mechanical Engineers develop surgical robotics, x-ray imaging, and navigation systems by working with top surgeons and cross-functional engineering teams. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for all engineering functions of their product lines. This includes bringing a product from idea/concept through design, prototyping, development testing, design verification and validation, manufacturing, FDA approvals, product introduction, and post introduction monitoring. This individual will work closely with surgeons and all other functions of the company to ensure high-quality and on-time product introductions. The position will be hands-on and the individual must be capable of creative and systematic product development with minimal supervision.  

Essential Functions:

  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design, develop, and test all aspects of surgical robotic products
  • Assists or helps in the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical components
  • Supports the creation of product requirements, specifications, and test documents
  • Supports the development of manufacturing test fixtures and documentation
  • Supports manufacturing, internal testing, and external customers when presented with quality issues; Prioritizing work to identify the root cause and create a corrective plan that ensures timely resolution of issues
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. 
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience or 5+ years with a Master’s Degree
  • Experience with Solidworks or similar CAD software for design and drafting preferred
  • Familiar with a variety of industry concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Experience in the Medical Device field is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as a critical contributor in small teams
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and E-mail
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time 
  • Experience with wearable computing devices
  • Experience with extended reality display systems
  • Experience in the Medical Device field
