Position Summary:

The Sr. Buyer is responsible for improving current processes and seeking new areas for efficiency improvement within the Supply Chain Department. This position requires development and possession of a deep understanding of Globus Supply Chain Standard Operating Procedures, as well as a deep understanding of how Purchasing functions within Globus and its subsidiaries.

Essential Functions:

  • Vendor forecast is achievable and Vendor achieves forecasted delivery schedule
    • Works closely with the Planning to understand upcoming forecasts and trends that impact Vendor.
    • Works with Vendor to align supply delivery to forecast with regard to quantity and date product projected to be delivered to Globus.
    • Resolves with planning any discrepancies between vendor supply delivery and forecast, in order to align Planning’s forecast to an achievable plan.
    • Visits vendor periodically and as needed based on business importance.
  • Reviews Vendor Commit Files weekly and monthly
    • Ensures 100% commitment to immediate needs
    • Tracks delivery to commitment throughout the month
    • Follows-up on items that are not committed to be delivered in the requested period and those that are more than 1 week late.
    • Visits Vendor periodically and as needed based on business importance.
  • Integrates with Product Development / Sourcing
    • Makes sure the product sourced is aligned with Vendor’s core competency
    • Reviews open quote packages with your vendor to provide feedback and/or close them out
  • Evaluates Vendor quality performance on a monthly basis
    • Drives Quality lot performance to be below 5% NCMR
    • Implements and maintains a policy around gaging with suppliers
  • Cost Reduction internally to Globus Purchasing Operations and/or reduce purchase price
  • Executes Purchase Orders as detailed on the TTP sheet by Vendor
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Purchasing or Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of MS Office with an emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Preferred: Experience working in the Medical Device Industry or Contract Manufacturing
  • Preferred: ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP)
