Position Summary:

The Senior Marketing Education Manager, Orthopedics leads development, implementation and execution of sales training and surgeon education programs for Joint Reconstruction and Orthopedic Trauma sales teams. The Orthopedic Sales Training program trains on three key pillars: clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and sales skills. The training and assessment of the skills to achieve these pillars are delivered through various training programs. Additionally, this role will support strategic development and execution of surgeon education programs in collaboration with other teams. Qualified candidates are expected to possess clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and sales skills upon hire. This person needs to have strong self-starting qualities to manage coordination of multiple projects to ensure timely completion of tasks. The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment. Must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relationships, communications, organization, flexibility and sound judgment.

Essential Functions:

  • Continuously develops and enhances the training curriculum to reflect industry trends and advanced technologies
  • Coordinates training courses, including incorporation of speakers (Sales Managers, Product Development staff, and surgeons), and facilitates the discussion involving those speakers
  • Manages training agendas and content; and lectures and teaches course content upon hire
  • Actively learns medical and product-specific knowledge through successful course completion
  • Works with various departments to manage the development of training materials that enhance the learning process
  • Communicates the student-specific course progress to Area Directors, Sales Managers, and department heads
  • Executes 101, 201, 301, 401, plus X-Ray conference training for Sales Personnel
  • Collaborates with Regulatory Affairs and the Office of Ethics and Compliance; is responsible for the review and approval of all promotional and presentation materials prior to use/distribution.
  • Collaborates with various team members within the MERC education group, Regulatory Affairs, Professional Affairs, meeting planning, travel, logistics and other internal and external support groups
  • Develops program outlines (including but not limited to – program titles, program descriptions, program marketing and communications strategy)
  • Is responsible for the measurement of program effectiveness and overall quality, including metrics reporting, the development of recommendations for improvement, program innovation and competitive analysis and comparison.
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal relationship development skills; ability to develop trusting relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent listening and communication capabilities, both written and verbal.
  • Developed strategic thinker with the ability to coordinate diverse ideas and to formulate global, annualized strategic plans.
  • Innovative.  Ability to recommend and implement new concepts and ideas.
  • Proactive problem-solver, capable of critical situation analysis.
  • Flexible work hours based on training curriculums
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to learn new systems.
  • Professional presence with excellent presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of translating customer insights into successful strategies and tactics
  • 7+ years of experience in medical device or related field in Marketing, Sales Training, or Sales in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred
  • Required Experience in the following clinical areas: Orthopedic Trauma and Joint Reconstruction Surgery
  • Prior Sales Experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 15-20% of the time
