Position Summary:

The Group Manager (GM) for the Anterior Interbody Fusion (AIF) team will lead the strategic direction and execution of product development activities within the AIF and Corpectomy market segments. This role requires a visionary leader who has a proven track record in the end-to-end management of medical device product development, from ideation through to post-launch commercialization. The GM must have demonstrated leadership experience to hire, lead, and work cross functionally with a dynamic group of Project Engineers and Product Managers. The position will require one to be hands-on with the product line to assist the Director, Product Development with new product design, sustaining efforts, manufacturing initiatives, and corrective actions. 

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the strategic direction and operational execution within the Anterior IBF and Corpectomy market segments, ensures alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Builds and manages a high-performing product development team, fosters ownership, urgency, innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Conducts in-depth market analyses to identify opportunities for new product offerings and line extensions to ensure Globus has the best product platform and procedural solutions in the market segment.
  • Engages with industry experts and key opinion leaders to ensure the incorporation of cutting-edge insights and practices in product development.
  • Drives the end-to-end management of product development from ideation through to post-launch commercialization, ensuring products meet market needs and achieve business goals.
  • Identifies, initiates and supports studies to obtain sound mechanical, pre-clinical, and clinical data with scientific merit for all developed technologies.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to define strategic product positioning, crafts compelling content, and develops materials and strategies to enable sales.
  • Supports all educational activities including MERC courses, symposia, think tanks, delta force meetings, cadaver labs, and in-house courses.  Is responsible to ensure that all Globus equipment at these meetings are up-to-date and only promoted by Globus in accordance with its approved labelling
  • Prioritizes responsiveness to customer needs, actively supports sales teams and surgeon customers to enhance market success and ensures sustainable growth.
  • Partners with Regulatory Affairs in planning, coordination, writing, and execution of 510(k), IDE & PMA submissions and approvals
  • Oversees all Quality Compliance activities for products within department including complaint, CAPA, MDR, NCMR, and all relevant compliance activities
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in the medical device product development and research field; 5+ years of people and or program management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a technical field; Master's Degree preferred
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high degree of organizational, technical, and business competence
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional projects, with the ability to inspire and drive performance.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in successfully leading projects through the entire product development process, from initial ideation and conceptualization through to post-launch analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues, solve problems, and resolve customer related issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 15-20% of the time
