Electro- Mechanical Engineering Technician

Position Summary:

The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician is responsible for driving product & process excellence by performing the following duties: scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of production equipment, measuring and/or assessing production outcomes, supporting engineering process changes, development of test methods, prototyping & deployment of process testing solutions, troubleshooting & prescribing product rework, maintaining bills of materials (BOMs) under the supervision of engineering, and training of production & service technicians as applicable.  This individual works with department managers, supervisors, and engineers & production technicians in the execution of essential duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Drives Engineering changes to process and continuous improvement projects
  • Maintains manufacturing BOMs and ensures proper regression analysis in advance of product changes
  • Assessing production outcomes and executing technical projects aimed at addressing key metrics
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) activities as assigned (work instructions, equipment qualification, process design, etc.)
  • Trains production technicians in soldering or with product-specific knowledge
  • Procurement of production tools and equipment/supplies as assigned
  • Attends production stand-ups and addresses needs as applicable
  • Diagnoses, repairs and tests malfunctioning equipment and machinery; Working to replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic components of machines and equipment
  • Provides daily emergency and performing preventative maintenance on any machine or system in the facility
  • Performs routine inspections to ensure safe and dependable operation of all manufacturing and electrical equipment
  • Performs lockout / tag out procedures for safety
  • Complies with all safety norms and regulations
  • Maintains records of inventories and placing orders for spare parts and equipment
  • Tracks maintenance and engineering support work to ensure accurate & on-time delivery
  • Assists in the execution of all assigned engineering & capital projects

  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in an electronics technology related discipline or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with GMP environment; familiarity reading, checking, updating Bills Of Materials, schematics, machine drawings
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with IPC A 610 and similar standards
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high degree of organizational and technical competence
  • Ability to function well under pressure and expend effort to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Experience with large medical systems a plus (ex. surgical robotics, x-ray imaging, etc.)
